A New Look At An Old Problem

You don't have to suffer any more. It is possible to get relief from your allergic reactions in hours, without the side effects of dangerous drugs.

What Is An Allergy?

About 80 million Americans (more than 20% of the population) suffer from some form of allergy. Allergies come in many forms. Respiratory allergies, (the inhaled variety) which result in an inflammation of the respiratory membranes is one of the most common allergies. These often can be readily diagnosed by the evidence of the "allergic shiner", dark circles under the eyes probably caused by nasal obstruction. Other signs are runny nose and weeping eyes, sneezing, itching and congestion. Asthmatic symptoms may also result from inhaled allergens.

Contact allergies result from direct contact with an offending substance which may be as universal as poison ivy, stinging nettles or more common irritants such as cat or dog dander. Such contact will result in a rash, hives or swelling of the local tissue and can also produce respiratory allergies.

Food allergies are extremely common and often overlooked. Many young children have these and they are often difficult to pinpoint but 90% of them are the result of the body's unusual reaction to cow's milk, egg whites, peanuts, wheat or soybeans. Selected exclusions of these foods for several days will usually assist in finding the offender. The classic symptoms of food allergies are stomach cramps, diarrhea, nausea, swelling of the face and tongue, respiratory congestion, dizziness, sweating and faintness. I would like to point out that many food allergies are not true allergies and are merely sensitivities which can be easily overcome as we shall soon see.

The Allergic Reaction

Allergies result from a reaction by the immune system to a foreign protein in the bloodstream. This should be beneficial to the body in that this is how the immune system destroys bacteria, viruses, and other unwanted intruders. But in certain situations, the immune system targets an improperly digested food particle, pollen, mold, animal dander and builds up a literal army of antibodies against such substances. Whenever that substance (called an antigen) is ingested or inhaled or is contacted, the army goes on "battle stations" and the war begins. The attack by the antibodies releases histamine which produces the typical (for that person) allergic reaction.

Under normal circumstances the body will begin producing anti-histamines (surprise - you don't have to buy them!) neutralize the histamine and you have very little reaction. But all too often, the prime producer of anti-histamines (the adrenals) are fatigued and incapable of responding. When that happens we have the ever-increasing problem of allergies which many face today.

Food Allergies

These allergies are many times the result of an inadequate digestive capability, a lack of hydrochloric acid, pepsin or pancreatin. In this scene, a lack of hydrochloric acid will inhibit the release of pepsin which initiates the first stage of digestion. If this stage is inadequate, undigested proteins will enter the small intestine and the pancreatic juice will be overwhelmed to complete the job. These undigested proteins normally would not harm the individual but in the allergic individual another problem is present... leaky gut syndrome.

The leaky gut syndrome occurs when there is inadequate tone in the intestinal tract, usually due to malnutrition. Although incompletely digested proteins could not enter the bloodstream through the intestinal villi which would not accept such large particles, tiny perforations in the small intestine will allow them to pass through. Once in the bloodstream the vigilant immune system sets up the antibody-antigen reaction and "bingo" we have the allergic reaction. Once that has been initiated even the presence of such proteins in the gut will produce this reaction and you have an allergic response even before the antigen enters the bloodstream.

The answer can be quite simple. I have found that giving the food allergy patient a complete digestive enzyme will often prevent the undigested protein particles from reaching the small intestine - they will have been broken down by the digestive enzymes to amino acids which are totally acceptable to the immune system. It is important that the digestive enzyme formula you use be of proper proportion or it will not work. Many products are merely pancreatin which enters into the second stage of protein digestion. They list all the enzymes found in pancreatin and look impressive; but if you don't have hydrochloric acid and pepsin to initiate the reaction it's like a car without an engine... You need it to get started!

Respiratory Allergies

With respiratory allergies, all stops must be pulled to control the reaction or it seems to just get worse. I have researched for years to perfect a formula which will reduce the antibody-antigen reaction and to support the adrenal glands in making anti-histamine adequately to mute the reaction. The ingredients in Allergy Relief Drink make up a formula that will work for YOU. Although some of the ingredients have been touted as singular "cures" for allergies, I have not found that to be true. You must consider the differences in human physiologic reactions and chemistry. The synergistic actions of these ingredients are also very important resulting in a total reaction which is greater than the individual reactions. I have also found that when presented as a liquid, the response is so rapid that it will amaze even the most skeptical.

Pantothenic Acid: This member of the B-complex family of vitamins plays a major role in the production of adrenal hormones and in the production of energy. In order to get results in restoring adrenal function, it is necessary to give from 1 to 2 grams per day. Less will not produce the results necessary. I use 1,000 mg (1 gram) per dose in my formula and the average person should use 2 doses per day for at least 1 week.

MSM (MethylSulphonylMethane): In my opinion, this is the single best allergy fighter there is for long term response. The frustrating thing is that I am not sure as to why it works as well as it does! I know that MSM, makes tissues more permeable and flexible, it encourages rapid repair of damaged cells, is a component of several amino acids and several of the B-complex vitamins, retards aging in the skin, restores scar tissue to near normality, and it decreases allergic symptoms in short periods of time, often never to return. I use 2,500 mg. per dose; 2 x daily for allergies.

Vitamin C: This nutrient is known to reduce histamine levels in the bloodstream just as an anti-histamine would. It does take fairly large amounts to act in this way - 1,000 mg taken at least 2 x daily. Vitamin C also works in conjunction with pantothenic acid to strengthen the adrenal glands which are fatigued in the allergy victim.

Ephedra (Ma Huang): In Chinese traditional medicine, ephedra herb is used for allergies, asthma and other respiratory diseases. It works in several ways, acting as a nasal decongestant, bronchial dilator, and adrenal stimulant. Because of its very potent action, many would like to see it removed from the market and have submitted laws to have its use restricted to prescription only. I object to such on the ground that properly used it has a great beneficial effect with practically no side effects and when improperly used is no more dangerous than an overdose of coffee. Beware the criers of "wolf" who are afraid you will not purchase enough of their dangerous drugs if you find a natural remedy that work.

Guarana: A traditional Brazilian beverage, guarana is generally thought of as a caffeine containing herb. It has been my experience that guarana is a potent assistant to the adrenals in their function and since the adrenals are fatigued and stressed in allergy cases, it makes good sense to utilize this important characteristic of guarana. As a beneficial side effect, the Brazilian herbalists use guarana to treat migraine headaches.

Stinging Nettle: Homeopathic medicine holds that small amounts of that which causes a problem will also cure it. Perhaps that is why stinging nettle works in allergies. I first became aware of its use in allergies while reading some of the writings of Dr. Andrew Weil, M.D., who practices alternative medicine. Dr. Weil states that stinging nettle is the most impressive treatment for allergies he is aware of. In American herbal medicine, stinging nettle was used for shortness of breath and coughs and as an antidote for snakebite and scorpion sting (both of which produce massive allergic reactions in the body).
